Finances
Although many people treat home financing as an insignificant detail to be taken care of last-minute, getting financing is actually the most important part of purchasing a home: if you don't have financing you cannot get a home, and most people wind up paying far more in total interest than they do for the home itself.
There are two important things to remember when financing a home:
- 1. Become educated, and
- 2. Work with a real estate professional.
It's important to have a good idea of what your options are and how they are affected by your individual situation (your credit, etc.), but especially when moving out of state, it's equally important to seek guidance from a local real estate professional who has connections to lenders in your area and can possibly get you a better bargain than you could find on your own.
