History of Dunwoody, Georgia

Dunwoody is a census-designated place in northern DeKalb County, Georgia. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 32,808. The community was named for Major Charles Dunwoody. Dunwoody is one of the wealthiest and most prestigious areas within Atlanta metropolitan area, with many elegant homes, highly-ranked schools, and abundant shopping and entertainment.
