History of Redan, Georgia

Redan is a census-designated place (CDP) in DeKalb County, Georgia|DeKalb County, Georgia (U.S. state)|Georgia, United States. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 33,841.

Redan was probably named after the numerous redans built during the Atlanta Campaign of the American Civil War. There is also a Redan High School located here.
