Hawaii
Although Hawaii is the last state (it became a state August 21, 1959), it's certainly not least. Many people are attracted to Hawaii for its pleasant climate and beautiful beaches. The islands enjoy an average high of 77 degrees during the winter and of 83 degrees during the summer. Temperatures are incredibly moderate, with the highest temperature on record in Hawaii 96 degrees, and the lowest on record 56.
The Hawaiian Islands are actually the projecting tops of the world's largest mountain range. Also noteworthy is the fact that Hawaii produces one-third of the world's commercial supply of pineapples.
Would be residents of Hawaii must be prepared to pay accordingly for their tropical paradise-during 2004 the state's average home for sale went for $323,000.
