History of Winslow, Maine
Winslow is a small residential community built along the banks of Maine's Kennebec River. The town sprung up around the protective Fort Halifax (Maine)|Fort Halifax which was built in 1754. It was named in honor of General John Winslow. Winslow is located in Kennebec County, Maine|Kennebec County, Maine, United States. The population was 7,743 at the 2000 census.
