History of Livonia, Michigan

Livonia is a city located in the northwest part of Wayne County, Michigan|Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the United States Census 2000|2000 census, the city had a total population of 100,545, making it the eighth largest in the state. The city is a part of the Metro Detroit|Detroit metropolitan area, and located approximately 22 miles northwest from downtown Detroit, Michigan|Detroit, and two miles from the western city limits of Detroit (Redford Township, Michigan|Redford Township lies in between the two).
