History of Sidney, Montana

Sidney is a city in Richland County, Montana|Richland County of the U.S. state of Montana, less than 15.5 km (10 mi) away from the eastern border of the state. As of the United States 2000 Census|2000 census, the city population was 4,774. It is the county seat of Richland County, Montana|Richland County{{GR|6}}. The city lies next to the Yellowstone River and is in proximity to the badlands of the Dakotas.

The city has a community newspaper, [http://www.sidneyherald.com The Sidney Herald]. Sidney is hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Around the outskirts of the town are many farms and cattle ranches. No to mention all the oil activity that has hit the city in the last four years.
