The City (New Jersey)|City of Camden is the county seat of Camden County, New Jersey|Camden County, New Jersey in the United States. It is located just across the Delaware River from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania|Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As of the United States 2000 Census, the city had a total population of 79,904.
Camden was originally incorporated as a city on February 13, 1828, from portions of the now-defunct Newton Township, Camden County, New Jersey|Newton Township, while the area was still part of Gloucester County, New Jersey|Gloucester County.
