The Incorporated Village of Freeport is in the southwestern part of Nassau County, lying within the Town of Hempstead, New York|Town of Hempstead. Freeport has its own municipal electric utility and Freeport Police Department|police department. Freeport is also a station on the Long Island Rail Road.
