Summer Fun in Murfreesboro, TN

Cannonsburg, A Pioneer Village:

How often do you hear the words "I'm bored!" from your children
during the summertime? Murfreesboro provides a multitude of fun
activities for kids and parents to enjoy. Easily accessible from the
Greenway, Cannonsburg, A Pioneer Village, is located at 312 S.
Front Street, and remains open from May 1 through to December 1.

The Village represents approximately 100 years of early Tennessee life
from the 1830s to the 1930s. Within the Village, you can view a variety of
objects relating to Tennessee history: grist mill, school house,
telephone operator's house, the University house, the Leeman House, a
museum, a caboose, the Wedding Chapel, a doctor's office, a general
store, a blacksmith's shop, a well, and the world's largest cedar
bucket. Cannonsburg was built in 1976 as a Bicentennial Project. It
was organized as a living museum village of early southern life and
dedicated on June 26, 1976.
