What’s happening in Southlake? School has started, football season is underway, and the Carroll Education Foundation is making preparations for their premier annual event, the CEF Culinary Celebration! This year’s event will be held at the Hyatt Regency DFW on October 12 from 6-10 p.m., with early registration beginning at 5:30. Approximately 30 of the area’s TOP gourmet chefs will prepare delights including appetizers, entrees and my personal favorite and a hit every year: chocolate soufflé with whipped cream! Fine wines and spirits will be served as well. There will be a fabulous silent auction, Big Board, and Live Auction, followed by live music by Independent George.
This event raises funds each year to support teacher grants and student scholarships. This year’s event promises to be even more enhanced with tremendous support from the community and additional items being donated for the live auction. The teacher grants that are funded by this event are announced via the “Prize Patrol”, as the members of the CEF Board and the Carroll Sr. High Drum Corp march down the halls of all the Southlake Carroll campuses to award the teacher’s winning grants. The kids LOVE it!
