Wichita Falls is a city in Wichita County, Texas, United States. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 104,197. It is the principal city of the Wichita Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area, which encompasses all of Archer County, Texas|Archer, Clay County, Texas|Clay and Wichita County, Texas|Wichita counties. Based on a July 1, 2006 estimate, the metropolitan area has a population of 145,528. The city is the county seat of Wichita County, Texas|Wichita County.{{GR|6}}
