History of South Jordan, Utah
South Jordan is a city in Salt Lake County, Utah|Salt Lake County in the U.S. state of Utah. The population was 29,437 at the 2000 census. A 2005 estimate placed its population at 40,209. As of March. 1, 2007, the population was 48,881 [http://www.sjc.utah.gov/populat.asp]. South Jordan has been one of the fastest-growing cities in Utah since the early 1990s. Kennecott Land, a land development company, has recently begun construction on the master-planned Daybreak Community for the entire western half of South Jordan. This community could potentially double South Jordan's population.
