Washington
Washington became the nation's 42nd state on November 11, 1889, and is the only state named after a US president. It is best known for its flourishing green gardens and trees, 157 miles of coastline, exquisite apples, and excellent seafood. Not only is Washington a beautiful place to live, but it is very industrial as well. Washington is home to the largest building in the world, Boeing's final assembly plant, and Starbucks Coffee was founded in Seattle. Bill Gates and Microsoft Corporation call Washington home, along with Jimi Hendrix and Bing Crosby.
